Competition Results!

Atlantic Dover Xcel gymnasts shined at the Valentine’s meet hosted by Phantom Gymnastics over the weekend of February 6-7th. A total of 37 Atlantic Dover gymnasts competed, composing four different Xcel divisions: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

The Bronze team placed first with a team score of 112.425. All competing gymnasts were divided equally into age groups. In the Love Bug age group, Gracie Schmidt placed 2nd on beam with a 9.175. Sophie Lusenhop represented the Cupids and placed 1st on vault and bars. Sophie came in 2nd on beam and pulled out a 1st place all around win with a score of 36.9. Savanah Hughes, also in the Cupid age group placed 2nd on bars and 3rd on vault, beam, and floor earning her 3rd place in the all-around. In the Sweetheart age group Gabby Harriton placed 1st on bars with a 9.475 and 1st on floor with a 9.6. Gabby took home 3rd place in the all-around. Kaylee Corman placed 3rd on bars with a beautifully executed routine and 3rd on floor where she captivated the audience. In the Dove age group, Lillian Creighton came in 2nd on vault and bars. Lillian placed 3rd on beam with a tight, strong routine earning her 2nd in the all-around. Renee Remick received 2nd on beam with a 9.375. Caraboo West performed a clean bar routine for a 3rd place finish. Gabby Sasien, also of the Dove age group placed 1st on beam with a stunning routine and also earned 1st in the all-around. Lastly, in the Chrub age division, Sophia Burke took 2nd on bars, beam, and floor. This earned her a 3rd place all around finish. Audrey Choate placed 2nd on vault with a 9.0, 1st on bars with a 9.5, and 3rd place on beam resulting in a 1st place all around finish. Audrey also earned the extra award to for the ‘Best Swing’ on bars. Riley Bishop came in 3rd on floor with a 9.25. Anna Wolusky placed 3rd on vault and 1st on beam where she was a calm, cool collected competitor. Anna took home 2nd place all around in the Dove age group.

The AGTC Xcel Silver team placed 2nd with a team score of 111.45. Kailey Holt of the Love Bug age group placed 1st on floor with a beautifully presented routine. Evelyn Ashburner represented the Cupid age division with a 3rd place finish on floor. In the Sweetheart age group, Morgan Koskela also nabbed 3rd place on floor. Mia Orluk placed 3rd on bars and 1st on floor with a 9.175. This earned Mia 2nd place all around. Gracie Gagne took home 2nd place on beam with a 9.4. Kayla McGary, part of the Dove age group placed 2nd on beam with a controlled routine. Annie Beikman placed 3rd on bars and 3nd on floor that included some of her best dance elements. Annie took home 3rd all around. Ari Bonney placed 3rd on vault thanks to a strong, powerful run.

The Xcel Gold team from AGTC Dover was well represented by Anya Marengo and Cadence Howard, both in the Love Bug age division. Anya and Candence pulled out a one, two finish on beam with Anya taking home 1st with a 9.45 and Cadence taking 2nd with a 9.4. Bethany Howard of the Sweetheart group had a strong meet on all four events. She took 2nd on vault, beam, and floor. Bethany came home with 2nd in the all-around. Tori Downey, also in the Sweetheart age group placed 1st on beam with a solid routine. Tori took 3rd on floor and 3rd in the all-around.

The Platinum team consisted of three members for this Valentine’s meet. With only three girls competing, each score would count towards the team total. The Platinum team placed 3rd with a 105.575 score. Sarah Bieniek kept her feet glued to the beam and finished with an 8.65. Alexa Nelson made major improvements on her vault finishing with an 8.9. Megan Hopkins placed 3rd on vault with a 9.2.

Part of the AGTC Dover Xcel team is traveling to Disney to compete in the Presidential Classic on February 15th. The Platinum team will be represented by Lily Doody, Megan Hopkins, Sarah Bieniek and Alexa Nelson. Meanwhile, Gianna Coppola, Cadence Howard, Tori Downey, Emma Tobbe, and Bethany Howard will represent the Gold Xcel team.Bronze Val.jpgGold Val.jpgPlat val.jpg
