In the second meet of the season, the Xcel team from Atlantic Gymnastics Dover took the Winter Carnival by storm! The Winter Carnival meet took place over the weekend of January 21st and 22nd at the Southern New Hampshire University field house. The Bronze team competed early on Saturday the 21st. The girls were split into four different age divisions: Junior A, Junior B, Senior A, and Senior B. In the Junior A division, Isabel Rothwell took 2nd place on bars with a 9.075. Brooke Kelly, part of the Junior B age group, took 2nd place on both vault and bars. She scored a 9.25 on bars and a 9.4 on bars. Brooke also took 1st place in the all-around with a 37.025. In the Senior A age group, Katherine Indelicato scored a 9.5 on vault, securing 1st place. She also took 3rd on beam with a 9.375 and 3rd in the all-around with a 36.775. Cate Palmer, part of the Senior B age group, took 2nd place on bars with a 9.15, 1st on beam with a 9.65 and 1st place in the all-around with a 37.25. Brooke Helliwell took 2nd place with a 9.15 on vault, 1st place on bars with a 9.325, 1st place on floor with a 9.5 and 2nd place in the all-around scoring a 37.25. While Brooke and Cate scored the same all-around, the tie breaker was decided by the highest score on an individual event which was awarded to Cate for her 9.65 on beam. Kaylee Corman took 3rd on vault with a 9.1. Kaylee tied with Brooke on floor with a 9.5 and was awarded 2nd place. The tie was broken by the highest all-around. Anna Wolusky took first place on vault with a 9.525 and finished 3rd in the all-around with a 36.525. The Atlantic Dover Xcel Bronze team took 1st place in the team division scoring a 113.1 in the team final.
The Silver Xcel team from Dover also participated in the Winter Carnival. In the Child division Savanah Hughes placed 2nd on vault with a 9.35, 3rd on bars with a 9.325 and took 2nd in the all-around scoring a 36.975. Gabby Sasien, part of the Junior B age group, placed 3rd on bars with a 9.35. Renee Remick, also in the Junior B group, took first on vault with a 9.375. In the Senior B age group Morgan Koskela placed 3rd on vault with a 9.15.
On Sunday, January 22nd, the Atlantic Xcel Gold team took the stage. The girls performed beautifully and took home first place as a team with a score of 110.9. In the Junior A division, Natalie Sicard placed 1st on vault with a 9.45, 3rd on beam with a 9.0 and 3rd in the all-around with a 36.15. In the Junior B division Cadence Howard placed 3rd on bars with a 9.125. Anya Marengo took home 1st on floor scoring a 9.35. Mia Orluk placed 3rd on vault with a 9.1 and 1st on beam with a 9.3. Delaney Sauers took home 2nd place on both bars and floor. She scored a 9.35 on bars and a 9.325 on floor. In the all-around Delaney placed 3rd with a 36.15. Julia Dirksmeier took 2nd on vault with a 9.35 and 2nd in the all-around with a 36.425. In the Senior B division Annie Beikman took 2nd on beam with a 9.05 and 1st on floor with 9.4. Jillian Driscoll placed 3rd on bars scoring a 9.1, 3rd on beam with a 9.0 and 3rd in the all-around scoring a 35.925.
In the Platinum level, Bethany Howard, part of the Senior A division, placed 3rd on vault with a 9.125 and 3rd on floor with a 9.2 The Platinum girls will perform next in New York City as part of the Manhattan Classic meet.
